On Sunday 12 April, at approximately 8.00 pm, crews on the Terminal observed a sheen on water near the VMT small boat harbour. The spill volume is unknown at this time and the cause is under investigation.
Alyeska Pipeline Service Company stood up an Incident Management Team (IMT) earlier this week in response to the ongoing investigation and management of a spill to water at the Valdez Marine Terminal (VMT). As of 6.00 am on 14 April, approximately 326 bbls (13 692 gal.) of oily water has been recovered.
