Detection demonstrations: including a pipeline seeper leak from regular hyperspectral leak and threat detection aerial patrols
Flyscan Systems Inc. is unveiling important results from the commercial liquid leak and threat detection aerial patrols inclusive of a potential first detection of an onshore diesel seeper leak.
The hyperspectral leak detection product is currently in operation. This paper will present real-life results from 198 patrols between November and August 2023, covering 35,706 miles and identifying 2,594 threats over ROWs from Alaska to Texas, including the Rockies and the Mid-west.
To the best of our knowledge, we report the first detection of a diesel seeper leak by routine operation of a hyperspectral system over a ROW.
A technical overview of the technology behind these detection is also presented.
